Our process
How the work actually happens
- 1
1. Pickup and inspection
We collect the rug at a time that works for you — usually within 2-3 business days of confirming the quote. Back at the facility, the rug gets a full inspection: condition, foundation health, fibre identification, stain map, and a dye test on every coloured area. We photograph everything before any cleaning starts.

2. Dusting
Most of the dirt in a rug isn’t a stain — it’s fine grit embedded deep in the foundation. Vacuuming doesn’t reach it. We use a mechanical duster that vibrates the rug over a mesh floor, dropping pounds of dust most owners would be alarmed by. This step alone often takes 30–60 minutes per rug.

3. Wash
Water temperature, shampoo, and flow rate are matched to fibre. Wool gets cool water (lanolin doesn’t like heat). Silk gets a much shorter immersion. Synthetics tolerate warmer water. We hand-agitate problem areas with soft brushes and let the shampoo dwell briefly before rinsing.

4. Rinse and extract
Rugs get rinsed until the water runs clear — usually 3–5 cycles. Then they’re flattened on extraction grates so water drains by gravity instead of being mechanically squeezed (which can stress foundations).
- 5
5. Flat-dry and groom
The rug dries flat in a heated, low-humidity room for 24–72 hours depending on thickness. Once dry we groom the pile so it sits naturally, comb out fringe, and re-inspect for any final touch-ups.
- 6
6. Return delivery
Rolled in clean paper, sealed against weather, and returned at a time you choose. Total turnaround is typically 7–14 days from pickup.
How we price this
We don’t publish per-square-foot rates because they oversimplify. Price depends on fibre, size, condition, and whether any repair is involved. After we hear from you, you get a written estimate within one business day. The estimate stands unless we find something at pickup that changes the scope — and if we do, we tell you before doing any extra work.
