What this service includes

Specialized pet stain and odour treatment for rugs, carpet, upholstery, and mattresses. Enzyme-based decomposition of urine crystals. Honest about what is and isn’t fixable.

Our process

How the work actually happens

    1. UV mapping

    Pet urine fluoresces under UV light. We turn off room lights and scan with a UV torch — sometimes finding spots the homeowner had no idea existed. This is the most-disclosed-surprise moment in our work; many customers learn their pet has been using one corner for years.

    2. Moisture probe (carpet)

    For wall-to-wall carpet we use a probe meter that reads moisture through to the underlay and (if penetrated) the subfloor. The reading tells us how deep we need to treat.

    3. Enzyme application

    Urine forms crystals in fibre and underlay that hold smell long after the visible stain disappears. Enzyme cleaners (live bacteria + protein-breakdown enzymes) decompose those crystals over a long dwell time. We saturate the affected area and let it work for 30–60 minutes minimum.

    4. Extraction or wash

    For carpet: hot-water extraction lifts the broken-down crystals. For rugs: pickup goes to the facility for a full immersion wash with enzyme additive. For upholstery and mattresses: low-moisture extraction with enzyme pre-treat.

    5. Sub-surface flushing (for severe carpet cases)

    When the underlay is contaminated, simple extraction leaves the smell. We use a sub-surface flushing tool that pushes clean water through the carpet, into the underlay, and pulls it back out under high vacuum. This reaches dirt that surface extraction can’t.

    6. Sealant or replacement recommendation

    For severe cases where the subfloor itself has absorbed urine (concrete or wood), surface treatments alone won’t stop the smell from returning. We seal the subfloor with a urine-blocking primer (requires lifting the carpet briefly), or recommend replacement of contaminated underlay. We’re honest when replacement is the better economic choice.

We don’t publish per-square-foot rates because they oversimplify. Price depends on fibre, size, condition, and whether any repair is involved. After we hear from you, you get a written estimate within one business day. The estimate stands unless we find something at pickup that changes the scope — and if we do, we tell you before doing any extra work.
